This article describes the pastoral work of Fr. Adolf Trusewicz of the Congregation of the Mission within the territory of the Republic of Lithuania of the Soviet Union in the period between 1945 and 1990 as he depicted it in the memories written after he left Lithuania in 1995. Descriptions include difficult living and working conditions, relationships between priests who worked there, the religiosity of the faithful, the general religious situation in the country, and the persecution of the communist authorities of both Catholic clergy and the faithful.
